With almost two and a half weeks till launch, spoilers may be incoming for Cyberpunk 2077 as physical copies have been spotted out in the wild. Redditor Justgonnasendit posted an image of the game’s case, yesterday, declaring “I actually had the game in my hands”. Thanks to their job at Amazon, it would seem the reddit user was able to get their hands on a copy. This as distributors prepare for the release date of one of the most anticipated games of the year. Hopefully, this means the game is ready to go this time, after several set backs pushing the launch from the original April date.
What’s in it?
So what does this tell us about CD Projeckt Red’s next game after 2016’s astounding The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt? The case photographed was for the PS4 version and included a sticker that confirmed the PS5 upgrade. This was guaranteed by a statement from the developers back in June. Alongside two Blu-ray discs, the physical edition also comes with a world compendium, stickers, postcards, a game map, and digital content access.
Justgonnasendit also posted an additional two photos of the back cover and a box stacked with Cyberpunk 2077 cases.
CD Projeckt Red have already released plenty of content to ramp up excitement over Cyberpunk 2077. The last episode of Night City Wire previewed last week. Reveals included new details about Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand.
The big thing to take away is that the risk of spoilers in the count down to release have just increased. Anyone who wants to avoid having the game ruined is going to have to be vigilant online until they get chance to play. CD Projeckt Red have so far avoided any major leaks, unlike other big 2020 releases such as Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II. However, now that the game is out there, it can’t be long until this changes. Pre-order Cyberpunk 2077 for only $49.94 here or here
Cyberpunk 2077 is due to release on December 10, 2020. It is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S
