Wing of Astel Elden Ring: Build & Location

We’ve been talking about different weapons in the game and the suitable builds that work with the best weapons and skills in Elden Ring. Today, we will discuss another weapon for the mage class, the Wing of Astel Elden Ring. The weapon is a complete badass that hasn’t been the talk of the show for a while now; the good thing about this is that it’s not skilled with Strength, Arcane, or anything like that. It is arguably better than Moonveil Katana.

We will be able to obtain strong incantations and spells to help you throughout the game. The Wing of Astel will be a great addition to your build as it is still untouched from the recent patch of Elden Ring. However, Fromsoft has nerfed the Moonveil Katana as we have mentioned before, and you cannot get the same experience you got from that particular weapon.

Wing of Astel Elden Ring Build

The build will be focused on Intelligence because the weapon is also scaled on Intelligence. The class you want to go for can either be Astrologer or Prisoner. Players are already familiar with the weapons in the game that scale with Intelligence. Also, you can opt with any weapon you like in the game. Still, some of the weapons will be useless against your fights with final bosses in Elden Ring. You will have to equip weapons that help you successfully counter enemy attacks, and deal damage to them. The Wing of Astel will provide you with the best damage in the game, and good stats. You can obtain the sword from the Ainsel River from a chest.

It’s a curved sword, and its weapon skill nebula is a series of devastating explosions that are amazing for destroying large mobs of enemies and putting massive damage to bosses. This sword might not have received as much hype for sorcery builds as the Moonveil Katana. Still, it’s a fun weapon to use, and it compliments any Dexterity and Intelligence hybrid builds efficiently. Location

To obtain Wing of Astel Elden Ring, you have to unlock Ranni’s questline to the point where you’ve defeated Radon and given the Fingerslayer Blade to Ranni. If you have completed Ranni’s Questline, you will have to head over to Royal Moongrazing Grounds and run through the forest until you reach Renna’s Rise. Climb up the ladder and then the stairs till you get to the transporter. When you use the teleporter, it will teleport you to Ainsel River Main. From there, you need to follow the stream in a north direction to Uhl Palace Ruins. Avoid the big enemy that is apparently attacking for no reason. Circle around it, although smaller enemies will attack you that you can avoid or kill.

Circle around the ruins and the boss until you come across a small cave that leads to a lower level. Again, bug-like creatures will encounter you that will spring at you for an attack, be careful with those and continue following the path. There will come a place that divides into two directions, and you will have to go straight and avoid the way where the water is flowing towards the end. The cave gets narrower, so you’ll know that you’re taking the right path. At the end of the cave, you need to take a right turn and follow the edges of the Uhl Palace Ruins. You will find the Wing of Astel weapon in a chest on top of the wall of the broken ruin.

Overview of the Weapon

Wing of Astel Elden Ring scales with Intelligence and Dexterity. It is perfect for players who love using spells and incantations. The damage on the weapon is insane, and because it scales with Intelligence, it will do more damage. Its Slash attacks are satisfactory, but the heavy attack doesn’t use any FP, and it’s incredibly powerful. The heavy attack shoots magic shards out. You can actually spam this move because it doesn’t consume FP and staggers the enemy.

We already talked about the Nebula skill on this weapon, which is insane. It shoots out an arc of exploding stars covering a big area and does massive damage to anything caught in the blast zone. While players cannot spam the skill in PvP compared to the Moonveil, it is extremely useful against bosses and large enemies in general who you can hit with almost every part of the explosion and stack up massive damage for minimal FP cost.

We recommend using Azur’s Glintstone staff to cast your spells because it speeds up your casting time quite a bit. It is advantageous in PvP or against any fast enemy while playing through the story. The staff is located in the Raya Lucaria Academy, hidden behind many rooftops, jumping past the debate parlor site of grace. Recommended Talismans

To use the Wing of Astel Elden Ring for a mage build, you can scale your build with Intelligence and Dexterity. But, if you want to focus more on the attack damage of the Wing of Astel, you could lower Intelligence and Mind to add more Dexterity.

You can use the Carian Filigreed Crest, which reduces the FP cost of weapon skill attacks, so you can spam Nebula a lot more without running out of FP. You can purchase the talisman from the giant blacksmith near the Carian Manor. The second talisman you can use for the build is the Shard of Alexander. It boosts the damage of weapon skills by 15, making the Nebula skill hit significantly more damage when it does connect. You can acquire the Shard of Alexander by completing Iron Fist Alexander’s questline during the final encounter in the Crumbling Farum Azula.

The third talisman that you can use is the Graven-Mass Talisman. It boosts sorcery spell damage and is a nice boost to your spells when you hit them with this talisman. It can be acquired at the Albinauric Rise in the Consecrated Snowfield before the Haligtree. You can summon the Fanged Imp Ashes to solve the puzzle out front and grab this talisman from a chest inside. There’s also a lower-level version of this called the Graven-School talisman, which is also located in the Raya Lucaria Academy behind the same hidden wall you break to get the comet spell.

The fourth talisman is the Stargazer Heirloom which gives you five levels in the Intelligence stat when equipped. You can switch it with the Magic Scorpion charm. In addition to that, Erdtree’s Favor provides you with HP, Stamina, and equip-load enough for you to steal a medium roll. You can also survive well with the base version of this talisman. The Ritual Sword Talisman is the perfect slot if you are looking for more damage. It will increase your spells when you’re at maximum HP. You can use the Green Turtle Talisman for Stamina recovery for even more alternatives.

Recommended Sorcery Spells

Let’s go over the spell choices you can use for a mage build in our Wing of Astel Elden Ring guide. If you have Intelligence higher than 60, you can use other types of sorcery spells, so don’t take the ones in our recommended list of spells as the best. You can acquire the Stars of Ruin by completing Sorceress Sellen’s questline. It is arguably one of the best PvP sorcery spells out there. Moreover, the spell fires off twelve projectiles that chase the enemies, making it hard to dodge completely.

The next spell you can use is the Adula’s Moonblade which you can get by killing the Glintstone Dragon Adula towards the end of Ranni’s questline. It summons a Greatsword that slashes and fires out a large arc of frost magic and also gives you a high damage mid-range spell. The Comet spell is also helpful, and you can find it behind a hidden wall near the debate parlor in the Raya Lucaria Academy. The Comet spell gives you a few generic ranged attacks that you can cast rapidly to stack up damage from a long distance.

Next up is Carian Piercer, which you can find by killing a scarab in the Carian Manor. It stabs out with a large Greatsword for a reasonable distance in front of you and is deemed as a situational spell. However, the spell is very handy once you get the hang of it. Also, the Carian Phalanx can be a great addition to the mage build, which you can purchase from Preceptor Seluvis near Renna’s Rise if you do his quest. It summons a bunch of swords around your character that fire off at anything that comes close, and it’s really useful as a defensive option.

If you go with the Moonblade, the main plan is to use Adula’s Moonblade at the start of a boss fight. Once activated, it will track him if you’re locked onto them, reducing the enemy’s magic defense by 10-15%, with an additional 20& if frostbitten.

Flask of Physick

For your Physick flask, you may want to consider using the following;

• Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear
• Opaline Bubbletear

You can use the Cerulean Hidden Tear for the infinite Azur Comet or meteor. Still, it’s also great with spamming Adula’s Moonblade. Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear increases your magic damage overall, which also affects Nebula for the Wing of Astel Elden Ring, so it’s a magical attack that scales off with Intelligence and Dexterity.

You can obtain the weapon from Remembrance of the Naturalborn, by defeating Astel. The Bastard’s Stars is not a good weapon as compared to the Wing of Astel. However, you can use it in similar situations. It is best that you still keep this weapon in your slot in case you need it. The article will provide you with reasonable justifications as to why you need it. The ash of war is also Nebula and it can cover the ground in an AOE radius. The damage it does is insane.

On the contrary, Wing of Astel Elden Ring weapon can break the posture of the enemies and has a forward-range attack that can cause good damage. In contrast, this one can gain you some distance and cover your back. When you are mid-animation of firing your Ash of War Nebula, you can still cause damage even when you are hit by the enemy.

When you are using the Bastard’s Stars, you will have to do the whole animation to cause damage. Otherwise, you will be interrupted and gain damage from the enemy attacks.

We have already suggested that you take both of these weapons in your slot. Because they can have a beneficial impact on your build in terms of switching them between different situations. For instance, if you want to break the posture of the enemy, you can use Wing of Astel. After that, you can switch to this weapon and deal massive damage to the enemy. The only downside to these weapons is that their animations are delayed, and that can cost you a significant drop in your health. An alternative to these weapons would be the Antspur Rapier as it has an amazing blood build up.

Another great alternative to the weapons in your build is the Carian Regal Scepter. You may have noticed that this is Rennala’s weapon of choice, and you can obtain it once you defeat her. Of course, you already know that you can fight this boss in Raya Lucaria however, the staff has a requirement that you need to fulfill before you can equip it. It can be annoying to find the best weapon in the game, only to find out it has a ridiculous requirement to wield. In this case, the staff has a requirement of 60 Intelligence.

The staff is a great addition to your slot, as it can help you cast more sorceries without depleting your FP by a significant number. The stats on the stats are good enough to be used in battle

Finally, you can also pair Wind of Astel Elden Ring with the Serpent-God’s Cold Curved Sword. It is a unique weapon that resembles the Astel due to its curved end.

There are a number of reasons why you would want to go with this weapon of choice. Firstly, by using the sword, you can gain additional HP whenever you kill an enemy. To answer your question concerning the uniqueness of the weapon, yes, that means your spells as well. To further make your weapon effective, you can use the Golden Vow. It is a skill that can increase your faith incantations and removes the factor of using any faith on it. You can obtain the skill super early in the Golden Halberd.

Moreover, you can greatly benefit from the skill as it provides damage negation and affects close-range damage. You can use the skill even after switching weapons between the fights, and the effect will still run its course. The best way to use any weapon is to keep an alternative. By doing so, you can switch between them and tackle different situations without losing any points. One weapon can be used to stun or stagger the enemy, while switching between the second choice can deal significant amount of damage to the enemy.

Armor Set

For armor pieces, you can use the following for your build. But it depends on what type of build you are going for;
