God of War Ragnarok Dragon Beach Chest is located in the Svartalfheim Realm and contains one of two rewards that increase the maximum health and rage bar for Kratos to aid him in battle. The Nornir Chest dates back to the old God of War series and is also available in the newest addition; Ragnarok.
The game has a knack for puzzles and mysteries players need to solve for rewards and progression to the next phase. Similarly, the Nornir Chest requires the destruction of Three Seals placed at three different locations. Players need to locate and destroy them to unlock the chest for rewards.
However, due to the difficulty of finding the said Seals, players spend most of their time neglecting the puzzles and carrying on with the story mode. Although, some chests exceed the capabilities of Kratos himself. Therefore, you will need to play the story mode to upgrade your equipment to solve the puzzles.
Fortunately, with my guide, you’ll be able to solve the Nornir Chest puzzle located at Dragon Beach in the Svartalfheim Realm.
Key Takeaways
In the game, there are Thirty-Five Nornir Chests scattered across the Nine Realms, and they contain valuable collectibles:
- The first Thirty Chests contain valuable collectibles:
- Iddun Apple: Increases Kratos’s maximum health.
- Horn of The Blood Mead: Increases Kratos’s Rage Bar.
- The remaining Five Chests contain various other items, including:
- Weapon Enchantments
- Shattered Run Materials
- Hacksilver
- And more.
Unlocking the Dragon Beach Nornir Chest:
- To unlock the Dragon Beach Nornir Chest, players need to find and destroy Three Seals hidden nearby.
- These seals are marked with the runes R, Y, and F.
- Solving the puzzle related to these seals will open the chest and grant you its contents.
Dragon Beach Chest Overview
Open your map and look for Dragon Beach. You will find it in the Svartalfheim Realm. When you arrive at the beach, move closer to the giant statue built on stones near the waterfall.
That’s where you’ll find the Nornir Chest. Locating the three Seals will be an easier task as you’ll have to look for a stream of water gushing upwards in front of each Seal.
First Seal
In your quest to find and destroy the Nornir Chest Seals in God of War, here are the steps for the first two seals:
First Seal:
- Locate the Nornir Chest behind the running water with a geyser or waterfall.
- Aim your Leviathan Axe toward the geyser/waterfall and throw it to freeze the water.
- The seal will become visible.
- Call back your Leviathan Axe.
- Aim the axe toward the seal and throw it again to break the first seal.
Second Seal:
- Continue exploring to find the second seal.
- Look for another stream of water gushing upwards, and you’ll find the second seal behind it.
- However, this second seal is protected by a steel or metal fence, making it inaccessible to your Axe.
For the second seal, you’ll need to find an alternate method to access it since the Axe won’t work due to the fence. You might need to solve a puzzle, use different abilities, or find another way to destroy it.
Second Seal
To locate the second Seal, stand next to the Nornir Chest and move your screen to the right. You will notice a Blue Text inscribed on one of the woods hanging on the wall and a huge wooden post with a hook on its end. Do you notice the water gushing from the ground beside it?
That’s where you’ll find your second Seal/Rune. Again, use your Axe to freeze the water, recall your Axe and go around the metal fence. You’ll be at the back side of the Seal, so aim your axe and destroy the second seal!

Third Seal
To find and destroy the third Nornir Chest Seal in God of War, follow these steps:
- After you’ve successfully destroyed the second seal behind the metal fence, move toward the shore.
- Look for a small wooden post with a hook on its end.
- As you approach the shore, you’ll see water gushing out of the ground again.
- Repeat the steps by throwing your Leviathan Axe to freeze the water and then recalling it back to your hand.
- Throw the Axe one last time to destroy the third and final seal.
- After destroying all three seals/runes and solving the puzzle, make your way back to the Nornir Chest.
- With all three seals destroyed, you can now open the Nornir Chest to claim your reward.

Dragon Beach Nornir Chest Reward
The Nornir Chests contain Idunn Apples, which increase Kratos’s health bar. Here’s some important information about these chests:
- Health Bar Increase: The Idunn Apples found in the Nornir Chests increase Kratos’s health bar. During your first encounter with these chests, Kratos will automatically have his Rage and Health Bars increased. However, collecting Idunn Apples from the chests for the second time will require you to collect a subsequent number of them to take effect. In other words, you’ll need to collect more than one Idunn Apple for it to increase your health bar again.
- Hidden Puzzle: Each Nornir Chest has a hidden puzzle that must be solved to access the Idunn Apple inside. The puzzle typically involves finding and destroying three Runes or Seals. What makes it challenging is that you need to figure out how to destroy these seals; there are various methods, such as lighting them on fire or ringing their bells.
That concludes my God of War Ragnarok Dragon Beach Chest guide. Hopefully, you were able to find and destroy the Three Runes to collect your reward! Now you can continue with your story and perhaps, finish the game with ease!
