Orichalcum is one of the rarest crafting materials to find for weapons in Final Fantasy 16. Read my guide to find out where to get it and how to use it.
Key Takeaways
- In Final Fantasy 16, players can use Orichalcum as material for crafting.
- Killing 4 S-rank Notorious Marks—Atlas, Svarog, Behemoth King, and Gorgimera—drops it.
- Orichalcum can be used to craft the best weapon, belt, and vambrace in Final Fantasy 16.
- Namely, the Weapon Gotterdammerung with an Attack and Stagger of 375.
- Furthermore, the Belt Ouroboros with a Bonus Defense of 95 and a Bonus HP of 32.
- Finally, the Vambrace Sons of Ouroboros with a Bonus Defense of 97 and Bonus HP of 32.
In my opinion Orichalcum is quite possibly the rarest material in Final Fantasy 16. Materials are items that Clive can use to craft a plethora of different supplies. Orichalcum can be used to craft the game’s best Weapon, Belt, and Vambrace. However, despite its rarity now, according to its description, it wasn’t that rare in the past.
“There was a time when Orichalcum was so abundant that it was used in everything from armor and weapons to coins and cutlery. However, when the Twins’ only orichalcum mine was finally exhausted, the trading price for the noble metal increased tenfold, causing people to hoard what they had and ultimately making it rarer than even adamantite.“
Orichalcum Location
Notorious Marks are also known as Hunts. The Hunt Board marks these dangerous creatures to be killed—furthermore, Final Fantasy 16 features over 30 Notorious Marks wreaking havoc across the map. However, only the following 4 Notorious Marks drop Orichalcum.
Notorious Mark | Rank | Drops | Location | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Atlas | S | Fallen Iron (x1) Orichalcum (x1) | Cressidia, Grand Duchy of Rosaria | |
Svarog | S | Orichalcum (x1) Empty Shard (x1) Amber (x1) Fallen Enigma (x1) | Mornebrume, Holy Empire of Sanbreque | |
3 | Behemoth King | S | Orichalcum (x1) | Vidargraes, Kingdom of Waloed |
4 | Gorgimera | S | Orichalcum (x1) | The Velkroy Desert, Dhalmekian Republic |
Orichalcum Uses
Only 3 things can be crafted using Orichalcum in Final Fantasy 16. However, these 3 items are some of the best in the game.
Gotterdammerung
Attack | Stagger |
---|---|
375 | 375 |
After using different weapons in the Final Fantasy My personal opinion is that The Gotterdammerung is the best weapon you can get in Final Fantasy 16. Boasting an Attack and Stagger of 375, it is unmatched by any other weapon. However, the Ultima Weapon manages to dwarf the Gotterdammerung with an Attack and Stagger of 700, but it isn’t available until NG+. You need the following materials to craft the Gotterdammerung.
Material | Quantity |
---|---|
Ragnarok | 1 |
Orichalcum | 3 |
Darksteel | 2 |
Primitive Battlehorn | 1 |
Ouroboros
Bonus Defense | Bonus HP |

The Ouroboros is the best belt you can craft in the game. It offers 95 Bonus Defense and 32 Bonus HP, the highest stats out of any belt, even when comparing upgraded variants of other belts. The table below lists all the materials required to craft the Ouroboros Belt.

The Sons Of Ouroboros
