There are 2 primary locations where you find Bluebirds scattered about.
- The Royal Meadows in The Holy Empire of Sanbreque. The quickest way to get there is by fast-traveling to the Northreach Obelisk, alternatively, the Royal Meadows Obelisk.
- Sorrowise in The Imperial Province of Rosaria. The quickest way to get there is by fast-traveling to the Martha’s Rest Obelisk.
Bluebirds are straightforward enemies to kill. They can be staggered by almost every attack, and you can probably do hitless runs when you’re grinding them. They don’t offer many rewards except for Ability Points; however, if they drop Black Blood, it can be traded at Charon’s Toll for 400 Gil if you need extra money.

Bluebirds are a great source of Ability Points during the early-mid game phase. I will use Wages of Warcraft to maximize our farming gains, increasing the Ability points earned from each Bluebird by 20% or Wages of Warcraft II Accessory for a 40% bonus.

- Complete the main story quest, Cid the Outlaw. Alternatively, finish the main story quest, After The Storm, to unlock the same path to the Wages of Warcraft II Accessory.
- Head to Charon’s Toll at The Hideaway.
- Buy and equip the Wages of Warcraft Accessory.
- Change the Gameplay setting from Action-Focused Mode to Story-Focused Mode if it isn’t already.
- Fast-travel to the Northreach Obelisk and then trek up (North) to the Royal Meadows.
- Kill the 3 Bluebirds in the area. Optionally, kill any other enemies to make the most out of each run.
- Rinse and Repeat starting from Step 5.
My Recommendation For Bluebirds Farming
You can also farm Bluebirds in Sorrowise, but the nearest Obelisk to there is the Martha’s Rest Obelisk, which is quite far away, and each trek will add up to a lot of wasted time. But the choice depends on your ease of access and weapons to deal with these birds. One thing that I can say is that these birds are definitely worthy of farming during early to midgame.
