Diablo 4 Mysterious Chest Locations [All 33]

Tortured Gifts of Mystery are in-game treasure chests that you can find scattered throughout the region. Each chest costs 175 Abberant Cinders if you want to open it. And when you do, you can acquire several Legendary and Unique weapons and other rare loot.

Mysterious Chests appear during the Helltide event. However, they don’t all appear at the same time. Helltide periods have a 75-minute delay between each other. During any given Helltide period, only 2 of the Mysterious Chests will be available at any time. However, up to 3 chests can be found in Kehjistan.

If an hour passes and you enter the next hour (for instance, if the time goes from 3:59 PM to 4:00 PM), the previous chests will disappear, and new ones will spawn. This means you can get multiple Mysterious Chests during a single Helltide period if you enter a new hour.

Fractured Peaks Locations

Fractured Peaks features five Diablo 4 Mysterious Chest locations:

Sarkova Pass 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Menestad

1. The first Tortured Gift in Fractured Peaks is as easy to find as the next one.
2. First, travel to the Menestad Waypoint. From here, take a direct North.
3. You’ll come across a pathway leading further North, bending slightly to the West.
4. Take this path and keep going until you reach a course on the left.
5. Take it, then go South (or take another left), and you’ll find the chest at the end of this path.

Sarkova Pass 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Menestad

1. From Menestad, travel North again and take the path that you see heading Northwest.
2. You will reach another way from here that branches to the right (or East). This appears shortly before the left path, where you find the first treasure.
3. Take the right path and keep traveling until you reach the end. You’ll find the Mysterious Chest there.

Frigid Expanse 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Kyovashad

1. From Kyovashad, travel East, and once you cross the bridge, travel North, hugging the very left edge of the path.
2. Along the way, you’ll come across the right branch. Note it, but don’t go there.
3. Instead, travel a bit further until you see an Altar of Lilith on the right.
4. The Mysterious Chest is close to the Altar.

Frigid Expanse 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Kyovashad

1. Go to the Kyovashad Waypoint again and take the East path until you cross the bridge.
2. Next, hug the left edge and travel North, past the right fork and the previous Mysterious Chest.
3. You’ll reach a point where the path has two branches North and one East.
4. Take the East branch (North of where you found the first Mysterious Chest in this area) and hug the North edge until you see the chest.
5. It’s by the Immortal Emanation dungeon.

Frigid Expanse 3

• Nearest Waypoints: Kyovashad

1. The third Mysterious Chest near Kyovashad is Southeast of the Waypoint.
2. First, travel to the Kyovashad Waypoint.
3. Then, travel East over the bridge.
4. Once you cross the bridge, keep going East until you reach the edge of the area. There will be a trekkable path nearby.
5. Take this path South, ignoring the first Eastern branch and taking the second one. Hug the North edge of this path, and you’ll find the Mysterious Chest.

Scosglen Locations

Scosglen has eight Diablo 4 Mysterious Chest locations:

Northshore 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Marowen

1. This Mysterious Chest is harder to find, considering it’s not precisely on land.
2. From the Marowen Waypoint, travel North and into the water.
3. From here, keep going North until you come across an island close to the shore on the East.
4. Alternatively, you can travel North from the Marowen Waypoint to the shore and hug it while going East and North.
5. Then, while embracing the beach, travel Northwest until you can see the island right in the water. The Mysterious Chest is on this island.

Northshore 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Marowen, Braestaig

1. This next Mysterious Chest can be accessed as easily from the Marowen Waypoint as the Braestaig Waypoint.
2. From the Marowen Waypoint, travel East, staying slightly toward the North.
3. You’ll have to go through the Cursed Scarps and find the Fothrach Castle.
4. From here, you need to find the chest within the ruins.
5. This area can also be accessed directly North of the Braestaig Waypoint. The Mysterious Chest is quite close to the shore.

Northshore 3

• Nearest Waypoints: Marowen, Braestaig

1. Another Mysterious Chest can be accessed from two locations close to the previous one.
2. From the Braestaig Waypoint, head North until you reach the area with the first chest (the Forthrach Castle). It’s close to the shore.
3. Then, travel Northwest from here, hopping over the Sunken Ruins entrance; you’ll find the Mysterious Chest in Stormbreak Cove.
4. This chest can also be located from the Marowen Waypoint by heading Northeast.

Northshore 4

• Nearest Waypoints: Marowen, Braestaig, Tur Dulra

1. This particular Mysterious Chest can be located from three different Waypoints, the easiest and fastest being the Marowen Waypoint.
2. Travel to the Marowen Waypoint and then head South while staying slightly Eastward.
3. This is where the Scourging Ings is. Once you reach the Writhing Brook, travel East to find the Mysterious Chest.
4. From Braestaig, travel West while staying slightly North into the Writhing Brook.
5. Finally, from Tur Dulra, you’ll need to travel Northeast, past the next two Mysterious Chests found from the Tur Dulra Waypoints.

Deep Forest 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Tur Dulra

1. From Tur Dulra, you’ll want to go directly Northeast.
2. You’ll find yourself in the Ancients’ Woods. The chest is right there on the map location.

Deep Forest 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Tur Dulra

1. First, travel to the Tur Dulra Waypoint.
2. Then, take the West exit and go immediately left, going Southwest and Southeast.
3. Once the path ends and branches East, take the Eastward path and keep hugging it till you reach the sixth Mysterious Chest in this location. You’ll find it by the Webbed Lode cellar.

Deep Forest 3

• Nearest Waypoints: Tur Dulra

1. Go back to the Tur Dulra Waypoint and take the Westmost exit.
2. Then, travel Southeast until the path branches Southwest.
3. Take this path and once you enter a large clearing with multiple tracks, take the Southeast path.
4. You’ll find the Mysterious Chest set in an alcove.

Deep Forest 4

• Nearest Waypoints: Farobru

1. This Mysterious Chest is technically located in Scosglen. But it’s best found from the Farobru Waypoint in Dry Steppe.
2. Travel to the Farobru Waypoint.
3. Then, head directly North onto a long passage.
4. When the passage branches right, turn right and travel along the edge.
5. Then, the path will branch twice toward the right (Southward).
6. Take the second right and hug the right edge until you reach a large open area.
7. The Mysterious Chest is right there at the very end.

Dry Steppes Locations

In Dry Steppes, you’ll need to find four Diablo 4 Mysterious Chests locations:

Khargai Crags 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Fate’s Retreat, Onyx Watchtower, Farobru, Ked Bardu

1. Four Waypoints can access the first Mysterious Chest in this location. Of these, Fate’s Retreat Waypoint is a lot closer.
2. Travel to Fate’s Retreat Waypoint and travel North until the path turns left.
3. Take a left turn and keep going forward.
4. Then, follow the path into the inner circular passage.
5. You’ll find the Mysterious Chest right near the edge of the Helltide area.
6. You’ll want to travel Northeast from the Onyx Watchtower Waypoint until you reach the same area.
7. From the Farobru Waypoint, travel South until you find the place.
8. And from the Ked Bardu Waypoint, travel Southeast first into the area with the Onyx Watchtower.
9. Then, travel East toward Fate’s Retreat Waypoint. You’ll find the chest along the way.

Khargai Crags 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Fate’s Retreat, Onyx Watchtower, Hidden Overlook

1. This next Mysterious Chest can be accessed from three Waypoints.
2. Travel to the Fate’s Retreat Waypoint and head South, hugging the West edge until the path turns Northwest.
3. Take this path and keep traveling along the edge South.
4. You’ll eventually find the chest in The Crucible of Cinder.
5. Take the East exit and the Southern path from the Onyx Watchtower Waypoint.

Untamed Scarps 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Jirandai

1. From Jirandai, travel North and then take the Western path.
2. Keep on the left side of the course until you reach the end, where you’ll find Desolation’s Reach.
3. At this point, you should hear Super Unique Zarozar the Mighty yelling loudly.
4. You’ll find it close to the Alzuuda’s Fields of Hatred.

Untamed Scarps 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Jirandai, Ruins of Qara-Yisu

1. This Mysterious Chest can be accessed from two different Waypoints.
2. First, travel to the Jirandai Waypoint.
3. From here, take the Northeast exit and keep going East until you come across a branch that goes South.
4. Travel South and then keep going Southeast.
5. Keep traveling along the right path; eventually, you’ll reach the Mysterious Chest.
6. From the Ruins of Qara-Yisu, you must travel Southwest.
7. Then, as the trail turns North, travel Northwest until the path branches South.
8. From there, keep going South until you encounter the Mysterious Chest.

Kehjistan Locations

Kehjistan features 12 Diablo 4 Mysterious Chest locations:

Amber Sands 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Altar of Ruin

1. There are five Mysterious Chests in Amber Sands.
2. The first one is just South of the Altar of Ruin. Travel to the Altar of Ruin Waypoint.
3. Then, take the Southeast exit and, once it opens into a large piece of land, travel West.
4. Keep going West until the path forks into three branches, all going in the same direction.
5. Take the middle course; you’ll find the Mysterious Chest in the opening.

Amber Sands 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Altar of Ruin

1. The next Mysterious Chest can also be found at the Altar of Ruin Waypoint. Travel to the Waypoint.
2. Then, take the Northwest exit.
3. Once it forks, take the left branch and keep going South until the path turns West.
4. Now, keep going west until the path branches into three different paths, all going in the same direction.
5. Take a left (or South) path and keep going until it turns left again.
6. Take this left, then the next one, and keep going East until you reach the Mysterious Chest.

Amber Sands 3

• Nearest Waypoints: Altar of Ruin

1. From the Altar of Ruin Waypoint, take the lower West exit.
2. Travel along this path, going North and then turning West. Ignore the trail that goes North and keep going West.
3. Find your way to the shore at the Western edge.
4. Now, travel along the coast South. You’ll eventually find the Mysterious Chest.

Amber Sands 4

• Nearest Waypoints: Iron Wolves Encampment

1. This Mysterious Chest is technically in Amber Sands but can be accessed best through the Ragged Coastline.
2. Travel to the Iron Wolves Encampment Waypoint and travel East, taking the first left.
3. Take another left and keep going West.
4. As the path bends to the Southwest, take the first right.
5. Then, travel North until you come across a way that goes North near the coastline.
6. You’ll enter Amber Sands again, and at the end of the trail, you’ll find the Mysterious Chest.

Amber Sands 5

• Nearest Waypoints: Altar of Ruin

1. This Mysterious Chest location is close to the Imperial Library Waypoint but cannot be accessed.
2. Instead, travel to the Altar of Ruin Waypoint.
3. From here, take the Southwestern exit and then turn left.
4. You’ll find yourself in a large open desert.
5. Keep traveling Southeast, and you’ll find the chest in the marked location.

Ragged Coastline 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Iron Wolves Encampment

1. From the Iron Wolves Encampment, travel North, take two lefts, then West and Southwest.
2. Take the first right and travel South, taking the next right.
3. Keep going West until the path forks North and South.
4. Take the South exit and travel West, hugging the edge until you find the Mysterious Chest close to the shore.

Ragged Coastline 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Iron Wolves Encampment

1. From the Iron Wolves Encampment, travel North, take two lefts, then West and Southwest.
2. Take the first right and travel Northwest, taking the next left.
3. Travel Southwest from here, and when the path forks, take the Western exit.
4. Then, take the second right and travel North into a small patch of land.
5. You’ll find the Mysterious Chest close to the shore.

Ragged Coastline 3

• Nearest Waypoints: Iron Wolves Encampment

1. From the Iron Wolves Encampment, travel North and take two lefts to get out of the area.
2. Once out, travel West and take the Southwest path.
3. Keep traveling along this path and take the right direction once it branches.
4. Then, travel South again and, while staying on the edge, travel West and take the following Southern path.
5. Once this path branches, take the Western limb.
6. You’ll eventually reach the Mysterious Chest by the Uldur’s Cave dungeon.

Southern Expanse 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Gea Kul

1. In the Southern Expanse, travel to the Gea Kul Waypoint.
2. From here, exit Gea Kul from the Southeastern exit.
3. Then, take the next right and then another right.
4. You’ll enter a long path that juts out from the shore.
5. Travel West along this path until you reach the Mysterious Chest.

Southern Expanse 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Gea Kul

1. From the Gea Kul Waypoint, take the Southeastern exit and travel East.
2. When the path turns South, turn South and take the immediate left course.
3. From here, travel South and then walk along the Southern edge.
4. You’ll eventually reach the Mysterious Chest near the East.

Southern Expanse 3

• Nearest Waypoints: Gea Kul

1. Travel to the Gea Kul Waypoint and exit it from the Southeastern exit.
2. Then, keep going East until the path starts to go South.
3. Then, take an immediate left, and you’ll be where you found the first chest here.
4. From here, travel to the East path and enter the next area.
5. Then, turn right and travel to the Southern edge to find the Mysterious Chest.

Southern Expanse 4

• Nearest Waypoints: Gea Kul

1. First, fast travel to the Gea Kul Waypoint, and this time take the Northeastern exit out of the Gea Kul area.
2. From here, you’ll need to travel a long and winding path to the very center of the Southern Expanse.
3. Take two rights and another right from the Northeastern exit once the path ends.
4. Stay along the edge of the road and continue to the Southeast.
5. Eventually, you’ll reach a path that goes straight South.
6. Ignore this path and travel in the exact opposite direction. You’ll find this Mysterious Chest close to the edge.

Hawezar Locations

In Hawezar, you’ll find four Diablo 4 Mysterious Chest locations:

Dismal Foothills 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Wejinhani

1. For this Mysterious Chest, you’ll need to travel to the Wejinhani Waypoint.
2. From here, travel West until you reach the end.
3. Travel South from here and take a sharp right turn.
4. Keep going West and take a quick left turn when you reach the end.
5. Now, keep going forward toward the South and take the second right.
6. From here, travel to the end of the path and retake a right turn.
7. Take an immediate left now and travel North. You’ll eventually find the Mysterious Chest to your left.

Dismal Foothills 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Wejinhani

1. There’s another Mysterious Chest in the Dismal Foothills.
2. From the Wejinhani Waypoint, travel East and then go North.
3. Keep going North until you reach the end.
4. Now, travel along the road’s edge to the East until you reach a long, winding path that travels Northeast.
5. Travel to the very end to find the chest.

Fethis Wetlands 1

• Nearest Waypoints: Ruins of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court

1. You must travel to the Ruins of Rakhat Keep: Inner Court for this first Mysterious Chest.
2. Exit the ruins via the Southwest route and travel South from here.
3. You’ll eventually reach the Mysterious Chest close to the center of Fethis Wetlands.

Fethis Wetlands 2

• Nearest Waypoints: Vyeresz

1. Although this Mysterious Chest is in Fethis Wetlands, you must travel through Vyeresz and Toxic Fens to get there.
2. First, go to the Vyeresz Waypoint and travel to the Southwestern exit.
3. Take the Southern route and keep going directly South until you reach the edge or shore in Toxic Fens.
4. From here, travel along the shore toward the West.
5. You’ll eventually enter Fethis Wetlands and find the Mysterious Chest right around the corner.

Final Thoughts

There are 33 Diablo 4 Mysterious Chest locations to be found if you want exclusive loot and rewards. These chests are scattered throughout the land, with five in Fractured Peaks, four in Dry Steppes and Hawezar, eight in Scosglen, and 12 in Kehjistan.

Finding all of the Mysterious Chests is a painful task. However, the reward waiting for you is far superior to anything else. Hence, we highly recommend finding all 33 Mysterious Chests.
