Starfield All Companions [Skills, Locations, & Recruiting]

Companions are spread across different Planets and Star Systems. However, this endeavour may be worth the hassle. Recruiting several of these Companions will liven up your Ship and lend you some support on your missions with combat or even other menial tasks like cooking. Moreover, you can Romance some of these Companions.

What Are Companions In Starfield

Companions are NPCs you can recruit to tag along with you on your Journey across the Starfield Universe.

Moreover, they can do various tasks, such as following you around on your mission to help you fight enemies, assist you in Outpost management, and help with cooking, among many other things. They can do this with the help of Skills, which are unique for each Companion, so you’ll need to do some scouting if you want a Companion with some specific Skill.

Furthermore, these Companions help expand the narrative and contribute to world-building. As such, some Companions will offer you side missions you can complete for additional rewards. All these Companions have their own beliefs, stories, wants, and aspirations, so it is worth investing time into seeing where their character development leads you.

Additionally, you can Romance some of these Companions, which will help open them up to you more throughout your missions. Eventually, as you build up Affinity with them, you’ll get the option to marry them and even sleep with them. This has benefits beyond carnal desires, like gaining an Experience Boost.

Recruiting Companions

It’s easy to Recruit All the Companions in Starfield. All you have to do is find them and talk to them. Some NPCs may require some compensation in Credits before becoming your Companions. In this case, you can either pay their fee to talk to them more (Persuasion) or bring down their fee so you can hire them for cheaper.

Keep in mind that some NPCs may also have pre-requisite Missions or tasks they’ll need you to complete before they can become your Companion. Furthermore, some NPCs may not be available during the day or night, so try using the Waiting Mechanic until they show up in their designated spots.

After Recruiting an NPC, you will be taken to the Crew Roster, where you can perform the following actions:

1. View the Companion’s Name, Skills, and what they are currently doing.
2. Assign them to do tasks like managing the Ship, different Outposts, or following you into combat.
3. Unassign them from their duties if you find better Companions.

You should know that your Ship has a limit on how many Companions you can take with you on a single trip. Therefore, you should manage your Companions on your Ship and Outposts to ensure you always have space for extra Companions who pop up as you play Starfield to ensure you don’t waste any unnecessary time going to and fro Planets and Star Systems.

Romance Companions

You can only Romance the following NPCs in Starfield:

1. Sarah Morgan
2. Barrett
3. Sam Coe
4. Andreja

As you’ve noticed, these are all members of Constellation. Furthermore, it would be best to assign them to follow you on foot to begin their Romance. There’s no such thing as a Romance Meter, but look out for choices with the terms [Friendly], [Flirt], and [Romance]. You can see how well you’re doing from conversations, and eventually, you will get the [Commitment] choice to seal the deal.

Paying attention to all of your Companion’s dialogue will help you make better choices. Eventually, the right choice will lead you to sleep with them and get a 15% Experience Boost for 24 minutes. However, you can only Romance a single Companion per playthrough, so make sure you pick the Companion you like.

All Main Starfield Companions

There are 33 Companions in Starfield. Moreover, 5 of those are Main Companions that form a core part of Starfield’s Narrative. Furthermore, you can Romance with all these Main Companions except for Vasco.

Sarah Morgan

The last crew of space explorers, Constellation, is led by Sarah Morgan. She had previously served in the military and been an explorer. She joins your crew to search for the Mysterious Relic.

How To Recruit	Once you talk to Sarah after finishing the Main Mission, “One Small Step,” Sarah immediately becomes a team member.

Sam Coe

Sam Coe is also a part of Constellation. Moreover, he is a former Freestar Ranger and a direct descendant of Solomon Coe, who founded Akila City. Moreover, in 2327, Sam and his daughter Cora Coe enlisted in the Constellation.

Barrett is an investigator, explorer, and adventurer. Since 2305, he has been a part of Constellation.
