Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been around since 2012 and runs on the Source Engine, which is almost 20 years old. Hence, it’s exciting to see Counter-Strike 2 faithfully recreate CS: GO with the more modern Source 2 Engine. However, Arms Race doesn’t seem to fall into this faithful recreation in Counter-Strike 2.
Key Takeaways
- Arms Race is a game mode from CS: GO, where the objective is to upgrade your weapon to a Golden Knife and kill some player to win the match.
- Counter-Strike 2 is a faithful recreation of CS: GO with some modified elements that improve the game.
- However, the Arms Race Game Mode is not available in Counter-Strike 2.
- There have been some Counter-Strike 2 Leaks that show returning Arms Race Maps from CS: GO.
What Is Arms Race?
Arms Race was a game mode in CS: GO, where you would have to kill other players to upgrade your weapon until you got a Golden Knife and kill someone to win the match.
CS: GO mainly revolved around the Diffuse Game Mode, where the Terrorists would plant a Bomb on the Bomb Site of a Map. Conversely, the Counter-terrorists would have to find the bomb and successfully diffuse it. However, other game modes like Arms Race, Hostage, Deathmatch, Wingman, etc. were also fairly popular.
Arms Race In Counter Strike 2
Unfortunately, Valve has decided not to put Arms Race in Counter-Strike 2. However, they could soon release it due to its popularity. Moreover, it would make sense to introduce more Game Modes to reduce feelings of monotony while playing the game. Furthermore, there have been Leaks of some returning CS: GO Arms Race Maps.
On the other hand, Arms Race could be on a lower priority list for Valve. Counter-Strike 2 is a major overhaul of the game. In addition, it is running the completely new modern Source 2 engine. Moreover, Valve possibly intends to iron out some of the other major issues with the game. Hence, this could be why Arms Race has not been released yet.
My Thoughts On Arms Race Mode
Counter-Strike 2 has been amazing, and I’ve had fun playing with my friends after such a long time and being nostalgic about our CS: GO days. Arms Race being gone is fun, but that doesn’t take away from the vibes of Counter-Strike and the joy that comes with it.
That should explain why Arms Race is missing from Counter-Strike 2. On the other hand, it is likely the Arms Race will make a return, and I’ll be sure to let you know.
Good job! Please give your positive feedback 😏
