Alan Wake 2 - Audio Issues [Fixed]

Most of the players who were too excited about Alan Wake 2 gameplay were disappointed by some audio issues. I truly understand your concern, and this problem seems a bit annoying when you have an interesting game, and the audio starts messing up.

Key Takeaways

  • Restarting Alan Wake 2 or the device (PC or Console) can fix it.
  • You can try reinstalling Alan Wake 2 on a faster SSD to fix the audio issues.
  • Make sure you have the latest patch installed i.e. PlayStation 5 (1.000.05) and PC (1.0.6).

I went through different platforms in search of solutions for PCs and for Consoles and fortunately got to learn about some, which I’ll share with you in this guide.

How To Fix Audio Issues?

These audio issues are not only limited to one device, but unfortunately, players have experienced them across a variety of gaming platforms like PC, Console, and more. Considering this, it becomes necessary to resolve it to get the best out of this game.

The main thing here is that each platform may require a different method to fix the bug, but no worries, I have some methods for you that will definitely help. So, let’s get into this.

Restart Your Device

This one seems like a simple one but it has fixed the audio issue for several players including me on PC, I was having trouble with the narratives but after a restart it worked for me.

Reinstall On SSD & Audio Settings

If restarting fails to fix the audio issue, then you will have to do some work more than just rebooting your device. Reinstall the Alan Wake 2 as SSD instead of HDD and then check it to see if it works for you.

You can also visit the audio settings, change it to “Stereo Uncompressed,” and then restart the game. This is another method that you can give a try.

Change The Audio Device

The audio bug cannot only be in a device but it can also be due to the devices you use for audio playing, such as your speakers or headphones, so don’t forget to check them as well. You can switch speakers to headphones to sort out the issue as sometimes having a defective or unsupported component can be a culprit as well.

Update To Latest Patch

Make sure your copy of Alan Wake 2 is updated with latest patch i.e. PlayStation 5 (1.000.05) and PC (1.0.6) as it’s meant to fix a lot of bugs at the launch.

My Experience With Alan Wake 2’s Audio Issues

This audio issue has got on the nerves of a lot of players, as considering how narrative driven Alan Wake 2 is having trouble with the audio glitches can really ruin the overall experience. For me the audio issues got resolved by a simple restart, for some maybe updating the game to latest patch might work and for some it could be the hardware related issue. Rest assure team at Remedy Entertainment won’t leave you hanging and will sort out these issues Asap.
