God Of War Ragnarok: Across the Realms [Explained With Images]

Side quests are better known as favors in God of War Ragnarok. They are usually for a person who recognizes Kratos for his ability. We are willing to do favors for them to get unique collectibles and enchantments.

 “Across the Realms” involves going out to different locations in search of ingredients. Let’s get you through it!

Requirements for the favor “Across The Realms”

Although, the side quests in God of War Ragnarok usually don’t require a lot of items to proceed. This one certainly does.

Here is a list of things needed to proceed with the favor:

• Unlocking the realm “Swartalfheim”
• Unlocking the realm “Alfheim“
• Unlocking the realm “Vanaheim”
• Completion of 13 Chapters (recommended)
• Completion of the “Scent of Survival” quest
• Completion of “Return of the River” Favor

Remember that I insist on completing these requirements before proceeding with the quest. They let you complete the favor without any problems i.e. inaccessibility.

Starting The Favor “Across The Realms”

First things first, Across the Realms is a favor that we have to find in Midgard. You can follow the map for its exact location. Verbally, it resides at the Eternal Campfire, which is on the far right of the map.

Once you are there at the snowy rocks on your sleigh, you will find an edge to climb up the top. The Campfire is based there. Near the fire, you’ll find a recipe book. Once you’ll pick up the book, the quest will get unlocked.

Read the recipe to find the ingredients for the Meal of Comfort.

Here is the list of ingredients needed to make the meal:

• Prongfruit
• Bantam Melon
• Elven Cap
• Nordic Gourd

You will have to search and find all of the ingredients across the realms to make the meal for a special reward.

How To Find The Nordic Gourd

Nordic Gourd is listed at the end, but it is the easiest to find. It’s not far from the quest’s location. Remember where you had to climb to get to this quest? The Nordic Gourd is right there at that location.

You will see a heart with the initials ‘S’ and ‘E’. Those initials refer to “The Ballad of Jari and Somr.” Seeing these initials or markings like this one will mean that you are near one of the other ingredients on the list.

Subsequently, below those initials, you will find the Nordic Gourd.

• Press Circle “O” to extract the ingredient.

There you go, you have found one of the ingredients from the list to be able to make the “Meal of Comfort.” Check the book again to ensure the Nordic Gord has been marked as found. Let’s move on to the next one.

How To Find The Prongfruit

The name of the quest refers to all the required ingredients being spread across the realms. The first ingredient on the game’s list “Prongfruit” lies in the neighboring realm Svartalfheim.

Use the Mystic Gateway to reach Svartalfheim. In Svartalfhiem, you’ll find this ingredient somewhere between The Forge and Myrkr Tunnels.

• Use the train at the mystic gateway at Nidavellir to reach the wooden bridge.

• Once you go there in those rocky hills along the wooden bridge, you will find another heart.
• This time it will be a green heart but with the same initials ‘S’ and ‘E’.

• There, on the edge of the cliff next to the golden box, you’ll find the Prongfruit.
• Press Circle “O” to extract the ingredient.

Atreus was wondering how they would have reached this realm. Mimir continues to tell him as we move on to the next ingredient.

How To Find the Bantam Melon

Moving further into the list, we will find the “Bantam Melon” in the realm “Vanaheim”. Use the mystic gateway again to reach this realm.

In the east of the map, we can see The Sinkholes. That is where we will find this ingredient. We only have to get to “The Sinkholes’ Entrance”. It is right next to the Mystic Gateway in Vanaheim.

Here is what you’ll have to do to acquire this ingredient:

• Climb up the entrance
• Be careful of the poison-like liquid falling from above

• On the left path along the water, you’ll see another marking in an orange heart.
• It’s the same ‘S’ and ‘E’ in the heart, below you will find the Bantam Melon.
• Press Circle “O” to extract the ingredient.

Kratos asks Mimir more about this Jari and continues with his journey. Only one more ingredient is left to complete this mysterious meal. Let’s not waste more time and complete it.

How To Find The Elven Cap

We have finally reached the last item on the list of ingredients to be able to prepare the meal. We will find the Elven Cap in the realm “Alfheim.”

Here is what you need to do to acquire this ingredient:

• Use the Mystic Gateway to fast travel to Alfheim
• At the Hjarta Mystic Gateway in Alfheim, go far left in The Burrows. (hint: use your sleigh to reach there)
• You’ll see another marking in a pinkish-red heart with the same initials ‘S’ and ‘E’ in the heart.

• Go under the pillar, and on the right side, you will find the last ingredient of the list, “The Elven Cap.”
• Press Circle “O” to extract the ingredient.

Furthermore, Mimir tells Kratos that whoever used to dine with Jari and Somr would not get hungry for weeks. Finally, all the ingredients on the list have been found. Now you have to return to the campsite back in Midgard to complete the favor.

Finishing The Favor “Across The Realms”

Lastly, after returning to the campsite back in Midgard, we can finally complete the favor. Kratos asks Mimir to finish the story and Mimir continues to end the story of Jari and Somr. When the meal is prepared, Kratos gets the following rewards:

• Meal of Comfort
• Whispering Slab
• Kratos XP +1000
• Atreus XP +350

Meal of Comfort, as told by the folks, is a delicious meal that will grant Kratos with all his stats boosted +5. Basically, your Strength, Defense, Runic, Vitality, Cooldown, and Luck will be increased by 5.

Congratulations, you have completed the side quest Across the Realms.
