Destiny 2: Master of Disguise Triumph – Complete Guide [2024]

In 2019, the Lost Festival brought a huge amount of exciting new content, including quests, weapons, and new seasonal triumphs. Among these, the new auto rifle “Braytech Werewolf” stole the show as it got the community pretty hyped. To obtain the rifle, however, you need to complete the “Master of Disguise” triumph. In this guide, I will show you exactly what you need to do to complete the triumph, how to get the things you need, and a little bit about the new weapon as well.

Initial impressions suggest that the weapon is decent at best and not as legendary as its title suggests. There are better weapons available in Destiny 2, which take less time to kill an enemy.

Steps To Complete Master of Disguise Triumph

Unlocking Braytech Werewolf involves the following two steps:

1. To complete the Master of Disguise triumph, you need to purchase all the masks available with Eva Levante in the sale during the Festival of the Lost. The masks are purchased only with strange chocolate coins. Well, that’s all that you need to do to complete the triumph!  

2. Once you are done with the triumph, you can unlock the weapon that you so badly want to try, using just 1000 candies. 

For the first part, that is the triumph, a total of 150 chocolate strange coins are required to purchase all five masks from Eva. Arranging 150 chocolate strange coins and 1000 candies is the only difficulty in this triumph and getting this weapon. But you need not worry! Collecting from the Tower 

To get a head start in farming chocolate strange coins, and candy, the Tower is the best place to start. You might not be aware of this, but you can collect almost half of the required candy and a few strange chocolate coins without ever stepping a foot outside the Tower. All you need to do is visit and talk to all the vendors there, and they will give you: 

• Cryptarch and the Gunsmith 10 candies each 
• Lord Shaxx 15 candies 
• Zavala 10 candies 
• Amanda Holliday 20 candies 
• Ikora 20 candies and 5 chocolate strange coins 
• Drifter and Hawthorne 15 candies each 
• Ada-1 5 candies  
• Benedict 10 candies 

These add up to about 130 candies and 5 chocolate strange coins. After collecting these, you have to go to the tree near Eva Levante and climb it. Here, you will find 30 candies and 3 chocolate strange coins. 

Now, the trick here is that you can do this on all three characters, one by one, and all the things you collect are added up. In this way, you get a total of 480 candies and 24 chocolate strange coins without even hustling through the game. You are already halfway done with the candies! 

Play the Haunted Forest 

The Haunted Forest is a viable mode to play if you want to collect candies. The main purpose is to kill as many enemies as possible and collect all the candy that they drop. Once you get to about level 7 in the Haunted Forest, you start getting around 100 candies apiece. 

Play the Altars of Flame Activity

To obtain the needed currencies, quickly head to Sorrow’s Harbor on the Moon for the Altars of Flame activity. Defeat numerous enemies to collect candies. After each wave, acquire chocolate strange coins. Purchase the Masquerader’s Cowl mask crucial for collecting candy – it’s essential to have it equipped every time you enter the playing field to gather the candies.

I’d suggest you alternate between Altars of Flame and the Haunted Forest to mix things up a little. And for grinding both of these, Fusion rifles In Destiny 2 might be your way to go.

Eva’s Bounties 

Now Eva gives you both weekly and daily bounties. Working on these bounties and collecting rewards from her is another way you can add up on your chocolate strange coins. Two weekly bounties give 5 chocolate strange coins each, and a daily bounty gives 2 chocolate strange coins. 

Mars’ Escalation Protocol 

Despite it being a difficult play, a lot of players suggest that you play Mars’ Escalation Protocol to farm candy. The reason for this is that the Escalation Protocol matches you against a ton of bosses that drop a lot of candy when defeated. 

Mixing up all these steps mentioned above will get you well on your way to completing the required candy and chocolate strange coin count. 

After you are done with the triumph by buying the masks from Eva, you can finally purchase the Braytech Werewolf rifle using all the candy you have collected. 

A Word About the Weapon 

As you have completed the Master of Disguise triumph, you can finally get your hands on the new auto rifle that is the much-anticipated Braytech Werewolf. With Braytech, you are getting a legendary kinetic auto rifle that has a low impact of 29, but an almost insane fire rate of 450 rounds per minute. It does provide a range of 72, which falls among some of the best weapons in the game. The gun also has a magazine capacity of 32, which is pretty decent. You can check more of such cool stats here.

The weapon rocks the following perks:

• Precision Frame – This weapon’s recoil pattern is more predictably vertical.
• Hammer Forged Rifling – Durable ranged barrel that increases range.
•  Armour Piercing Rounds – Rounds cause extra damage to shields and over-penetrate targets. Slightly increases range.
•  Zen Moment – Causing damage with this weapon increases its stability.
• Multi-kill Clip- Reloading grants increased damage based on the number of rapid kills made beforehand.

However, what matters the most is that whether the weapon, hands-on, feels good or not. With the little bit of the playtime that we got, the weapon feels decent at best. It’s hardly worthy of the title “legendary” as it does not justify it. It’s not just the feel of the gun; its time to kill is below average at best. It looks like it will get a buff sooner rather than later, but right now, it’s just not there. For me, there is a load of better weapons in the game that make this one not so viable.
