Diablo 4: Closing The Book Quest [Easiest Method]

 Closing the book is one of the side quests in Diablo 4. It can be found in the Hawezar region, and you can start this quest by talking to Elder Akros. The main objective is to find the four pages of the ledger.

How To Unlock The Closing the Book Quest?

1. To unlock this quest, you must talk with the Elder Akros, who resides in the Dismal Foothills.
2. However, to be able to speak with him, you would have to show your dominance by conquering the Eriman’s Pyre Stronghold.
3. I recommend you Start the stronghold challenge at the Spirit of the Pyre and interact with him; he will guide you about the location.
4. Slay the horde of monsters and the Fallen Overseer on your way there.
5. Defeat Elvumoz Bilespew, an elite enemy, to drop the Villagers’ remains. You can use these to extinguish the Pyre’s fire.
6. Then, you will encounter the stronghold’s boss – DuzAgur, the Eriman’s Bane.
7. Once you defeat the boss, make your way to the Wanderer’s Shrine and interact with it to rekindle the shrine and complete the conquest for the Eriman’s Pyre.

Solving The Closing the Book Quest

Once you have completed the stronghold quest, go to Elder Akros, who will be in Wejinhani. There, speak with him, which will mark the quest’s start. Then go with Elder Akros to the Eriman’s Pyre and speak with him, and he will ask you to collect 4 separate ledger pages spread around. 

First Page

A search area will be highlighted on your map to guide you to the pages. Firstly, walk towards the northeast side of the search area, up to the right, until you see a burnt house surrounded by burning skeletons. Kill them and grab the Smoldering Tomes up from the house, and you can also look around for a chest with some solid loot for you.

Second Page

The second Ledger page can be found on the east side of the map. Look for a burnt farm surrounded by burning skeletons. Pick up the Smoldering tome once you have slain them and head out.

Third Page

For the third page, head toward the bottom left side of the search area. Keep an eye out for a burnt house. Search through the house, and you will be able to find a page and a chest to loot.

Fourth Page

Lastly, the fourth page is towards the search area’s top left side. You will be able to spot a dungeon called Oblivion and the page needed to complete this task at the dungeon’s entrance. You can mark this location if you wish to explore the location later on. 

Once you have all the pages, return to Elder Akros and interact with him. Doing so will mark the end of the quest and will give you your rewards.

Rewards

The rewards for completing the Closing the Book quest are three items:

1. +20 Hawezar Renown
2. Gold-based upon your Character Level
3. Experience based upon your Character Level

The rewards aren’t that great, I’ll be honest, but the quest is quite short and easy to do, so it is worthwhile. Furthermore, it allows you to explore the area and farm up and might even guide you to the dungeon you didn’t know before.

My Thoughts

The Closing the Book quest in my opinion is a side quest that can be missed. However, given the simplicity of it along with the rewards, it is worthwhile to do it. In my experience, the stronghold’s boss is tough, and the best way to beat him is to continuously move behind it to be safe from its flurry of attacks.
