In the beginning, you can only equip one talisman, but as you advance further, you will be able to equip up to a total of four talismans by getting talisman pouches. A talisman pouch will be dropped by Margit, the Fell Omen after you defeat it in Stormhill.
Another can be obtained upon defeating Godfrey, the First Elden Lord, who will be at the top of the Royal Capital. You can also get a talisman pouch as a gift from the Finger Reader at the Roundtable Hold.
Once you have two Great runes go talk to the Finger Reader, and she will give you the talisman pouch. You will get the two Great runes after defeating two major bosses.

1. Radagon’s Soreseal
Best Veteran Talisman
Radagon’s soreseal is not only one of the best talismans in Elden ring but also one of the most useful ones. It enhances your stats of endurance, vigor, strength, and dexterity by five points each but we all know that all coins have two sides. You will be taking on fifteen percent more damage in return for these benefits.
Weight | 0.8 |
---|---|
Effect | Raises Vigor, Endurance, Strength, and Dexterity by 5 each, but increases damage taken by 15% |
At the end of the day, the extra damage is worth it because the boost of the stats balances it out and more. This talisman is a prime choice for most melee builds. it is because the stats it increases come in handy quite a lot when using melee weapons.
Why did I Choose Radagon’s Soreseal?
I chose this talisman since I am a pretty decent player and getting free stat points is quite the buff at any point in the game, especially later on when you are approaching the soft caps for most stats. This is for people who know how to dodge boss hits effectively so I don’t recommend this for newer players but for my veterans out there this is the talisman for you,
- Increased Overall Stats
- Increased Damage
Location of Radagon’s Soreseal
To acquire this talisman, head to Fort Faroth, which is in the center of the Caelid region. Once there, find your way to the rooftop. There will be several holes in the rooftop; to get to the radagon’s soreseal, you should jump into the second one.
Then you will find yourself to be on a wooden platform; here, you should keep moving around till you find a giant rat. All you need to do now is jump down and move around till you find the corpse with the radagon’s soreseal on it.
2. Great-Jar’s Arsenal Talisman
Best Heavy Build Talisman
Great-Jar’s arsenal talisman is the ultimate version of the arsenal talisman. It enormously increases the maximum equipment load, by about nineteen percent. This cannot be equipped with other arsenal talismans i.e. the arsenal charm and the arsenal charm +1.
Weight | 1.5 |
---|---|
Effect | Vastly raises maximum Equip Load, by 19% |
You will obtain it from the Great Jar after defeating the great-jar warrior knights. Furthermore, keep in my mind that to ensure the optimal performance, you should pump some points into endurance. That is if you plan on equipping colossal weapons and huge armor.
Why did I Choose Great-Jar’s Arsenal Talisman?
I chose this talisman since it allows me to go around in the biggest set of armor you own without having the weight penalty apply to you, giving you an edge in terms of damage negation.
- Big Increase in Equip Load
- Found Mid-Game
Location of Great-Jar’s Arsenal Talisman
To get this talisman, you will need to go on quite an arduous journey. First, head to the Siophra riverwell from Limgrave.
Then go to the Siophra riverbank site of grace, from where you need to keep on moving northeast until you find a stone staircase. This staircase will lead you to an elevator that will need two stonesword keys to operate, so make sure you have those before embarking on this journey.
The elevator will go up to a valley deep in Caelid. You should then head north till you reach the Great-Jar himself. Talk to him and three signs will appear in front of you through which you will be able to summon the Great-Jar’s warrior knights.
Kill all three of them and make sure to do so in one lifetime, if not you will have to start over again. Once done, talk to the Great-Jar to receive the Great-Jar’s arsenal talisman.
3. Taker’s Cameo
Best Dungeon Explorer Talisman
Taker’s cameo is an HP recovery talisman. It gives you a little heal each time you kill an enemy. It is a great talisman to have in store as your fourth talisman because as long as you are dealing damage, you will be getting your health back.
Weight | 1.0 |
---|---|
Effect | Restores 3% + 30 HP upon defeating enemies |
Why did I Choose Taker’s Cameo?
I chose Taker’s Cameo since it is a good talisman when going into dungeons and allows you to save Crimson Tears Flasks for the boss at the end. Most dungeons have really weak enemies and you will have to clear them out if you wish to progress so the Taler’s Cameo is quite good in these situations.
- Good for Exploring Dungeons
- Found Mid-Game
Taker’s Cameo Location
To obtain the taker’s cameo, you will need to start the volcano manor questline. To do that, you need to go to lyonia, where you will find a woman asking you to do her a favor. You should do her a favor and move on. She will meet you again at Altus plateau; talk to her, and you will be transported to the volcano manor.
Once there, talk to the woman sitting around the corner, and she will give you a key.
Then you will go to the dining room sort of area in the hallway where you will find a letter. It is a quest where you need to kill invader NPCs, the location of which will be shown to you on the map. After killing the third NPC, head back to the volcano manor and talk to the woman, who will then in turn give you the taker’s cameo.
4. Erdtree’s Favor +2
Best General Use Talisman
Next on our list of best talismans in Elden ring is Erdtree’s favor +2. This legendary talisman can only be acquired very late in the game and it increases three stats. To be more precise, it increases HP by four percent, equip load by eight percent, and stamina by almost ten percent.
Why did I Choose Erdtree’s Favor Talisman?
I chose this talisman because it is an amazing all rounder talisman which gives you more health and stamina. This is useful at any point in the game and I know that I didn’t take it off once I found it.
- Increased Overall Stats
- Found Late-Game
The increased equip load and stamina improve your chances of survival as now you can wear heavier armor and more.
Weight | 1.5 |
---|---|
Effect | Raises maximum HP, Stamina, and Equip Load |
Erdtree’s Favor +2 Location
This talisman is found in Leyndell, Ashen Capital. You will first need to defeat a non-optional boss called Maliketh, The Black Blade in the Crumbling Farum Azula to get there.
Once you have done that, travel to the forbidden lands site of grace and then towards the capital. Take the first lift up and head out the west exit. Then advance to the second lift, which will take you into the capital. There you will find a large field with an erdtree moving around.
The talisman you are looking for is situated at a dead tree at the southwest end of this field. Once you head into the field, two more erdtrees will spring out of the ground.
You can either face these or be smart and pick up the talisman and skedaddle. One way or the other, you will have the erdtree’s favor +2 talisman at your disposal eventually.
5. Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman
Best Talisman for Resistance Build
Dragoncrest greatshield is undoubtedly one of the most overpowered talismans in Elden ring. It tremendously raises physical damage negation. Strictly speaking, it reduces the damage taken by twenty percent. This is an amazing talisman to have as it reduces the risk of loitering through the world because most of the enemies you face will end up inflicting some kind of physical damage on you.
Why did I Choose Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman?
I chose this talisman since it allows for excellent physical damage negation. It’s really good for bosses who have strong physical attacks with no elemental buffs. You can pair this with ther Bull Goat’s Talisman for a big tanky character.
- Increased Damage Negation
- Found in Late-Game Optional Area
Weight | 0.8 |
---|---|
Effect | greatly reduces physical damage taken by 20%. |
Dragoncrest Greatshield Location
To get this talisman head to the drainage channel which is located in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. Head out from here (picture shown below) and then take a left.
Follow the tree branches till you get to the roof with the opening shown. The talisman you are looking for is located inside this building. Before you jump in, we highly suggest that if you are casting i.e., using magic, then kill the ants inside before going in, as they can prove to be detrimental.
Once inside, you will see the chest that has the dragoncrest greatshield talisman inside.
6. Gold Scarab
Best Talisman for Rune Farming
They allow you Runes are an integral part of Elden ring and play a massive role in helping you progress in the game, to upgrade your weapons, level up, buy items from merchants, etc.
Why did I Choose Gold Scarab Talisman?
I chose this talisman because I love runes. Simple as it may sound runes are important. My advice to use this talisman to the fullest would be to equip it right after defeating a boss since you have a small window before you get runes. That’s how I did all my rune gains after every boss.
- Increased Rune Gain
- Found Mid-Game+
Next on our list is the gold scarab. It is one of the best talismans to have in the back early on. It increases the number of runes that you get on defeating enemies by about twenty percent. You do not have to go out of the way for it to work, just have it on and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Weight | 1.2 |
---|---|
Effect | Increases Rune acquisition by 20% |
Gold Scarab Location
The gold scarab talisman can be found in the abandoned cave. To get there head to the smoldering wall and follow it till you get to a ravine. There you will be able to see an entrance to the cave, so jump down and go inside. There will be a lot of scarlet rot, and you will not be able to avoid it. Therefore, you need to ensure that you get the least amount of it on you.
One way to do that is rather than following your usual gait; you should turn around and keep on pressing the dodge button. By doing so, you will be able to move through it much more quickly.
Keep on moving further into the cave till you reach a boss called Cleanrot knight. You will need to defeat two of them to get the gold scarab. Conquering them will not be a piece of cake because you will be taking on the two of them at the same time.
Thanks to the YouTube channel ESO, we know that Cleanrot knights are comparatively weak to lightning and fire. A good playstyle against them would be using firebombs and summoning wolves. The wolves will distract the knights and give you more time to take them on. Once you defeat them, you will have the talisman you came for.
7. Bull-Goat’s Talisman
Best Poise Build Talisman
Poise is a stat that controls how much resistance you show to the enemy attack. In simpler terms, it determines whether or not you will be stunned by an enemy attack. The higher the poise, the more difficult it is for you to be staggered and vice versa.
Why did I Choose Bull-goat’s Talisman?
I chose this talisman becuase sometimes you want to pick up a great sword and swing it around without getting knocked out of your animations. Well definetly try this talisman becuase it has gotten me through some intense PvP situations.
- Large Increase to Poise
- Found Mid-Game
Bull-goat’s talisman increases your poise by thirty-three percent, which is quite a huge number. Having this talisman in melee builds can prove to be very beneficial because you are taking hits much more frequently in close-range.
Weight | 0.5 |
---|---|
Effect | Raises Poise by 33% |
Bull-Goat’s Talisman Location
This talisman is located in the Dragonbarrow cave which is in the north of Caelid. First, you need to head to the Dragonbarrow fork site of grace.
From there just head downwards till you reach the cave. In this cave behind the rune bear, follow the left wall until you get to an open chamber. You will find the bull-goat’s talisman on quartz in this chamber.
8. Radagon Icon
Best Talisman for Casting Buff
Radagon icon can be obtained fairly early on in the game. This talisman is better suited for mage builds as it reduces the spell casting time. It is also a prime choice for aspiring mages and sorcerers who are just getting started and finding it difficult to cast spells without getting hit.
Why did I Choose Radagon Icon?
I chose this because it adds virtual dexterity to your spell casting which decreases a significant portion of your cast time which might not seem like much but when a boss is one hit away or two hits away it can be a game changer.
- Decreases All Casting Time by 30%
- Found Mid-Game
Weight | 0.7 |
---|---|
Effect | Shortens the casting time of Spells |
Radagon Icon Location
You can find this talisman in the Raya Lucaria academy and getting it is pretty easy. All you need to do is head to the debate parlor site of grace.
From here head out of the debate parlor and take a hard right and move forward till you get to the parapet. Then turn right again and jump down. Here you will be able to see a ladder (shown in the picture below).
Move up the ladder and on the right will be a window that will give you access to the second floor.
Get inside from this window, and you will find yourself in the presence of a chest. Open this chest, and viola! You have the radagon icon talisman.
9. Graven-mass Talisman
Best Talisman for Sorcerer
Just like the previous talisman, this is also for sorcerers. If you are someone who enjoys using sorceries, then this is a perfect talisman for you. It increases the damage caused by sorceries by about eight percent.
Why did I Choose Grave-Mass Talisman?
I chose this talisman since it enhances sorceries and that’s a big plus since you don’t notice that damage increase at first but the later you go into the game the higher it scales which makes it almost invaluable.
- Increases Sorcery Damage
- Found Late-Game
Weight | 1.0 |
---|---|
Effect | Greatly raises potency of Sorceries by 8% |
Graven-Mass Talisman Location
To get this talisman for yourself, head to the inner consecrated snowfield site of grace. Once here, head towards the northeast to a tower called Albinaurics Rise. This tower has a seal on it, and in order to break it, you will need to kill a stone imp outside the tower.
Use the fanged imps summon here and let them attack one of the enemy imps. You can finish it off yourself and once you have done that, head inside the tower. Here you will find a chest containing the Graven-mass talisman.
10. Green Turtle Talisman
The green turtle talisman increases stamina recovery by eighteen percent. If you are a melee fighter then you will be using weapons that consume a lot of your stamina like katanas, daggers, etc. therefore this talisman is a perfect choice for such builds.
Why did I Choose Green Turtle Talisman?
I chose this talisman because it’s useful in any build since it gives you a lot of wiggle room when it comes to roll spamming and attacking relentlessly.
- Increases Stamina Reocvery Speed
- None
Many melee fighters end up losing some of the boss fights just because of a lack of stamina. You will no longer need to worry about that as you will be regaining your stamina much more quickly and efficiently.
Weight | 0.7 |
---|---|
Effect | Raises Stamina recovery speed by 8 per second (17.7%) |
Green Turtle Talisman Location
To acquire this talisman, you need to go to the Summonwater village in Limgrave. There on the southeast side, you will find a sealed staircase.
To remove the seal, you need to use a stonesword key. If you do not have one, purchase it from patches in Murkwater down south. Inside you will find a room full of turtles and a door in the back. Open this door, and you will see the chest containing the green turtle talisman.
Why Others Were Not Chosen?
- Shard of Alexander: Only works on specific builds
- Godfrey Icon: Works for specific spells only
- Lord of Blood’s Exaltation: Bleed Build specific talisman
- Godskin Swaddling Cloth: Dexterity Build specific talisman
What Would I Recommend?
I would recommend you three charms that you can not go without during your playthrough. Firstly I would recommend Green Turtle Talisman since it gives you extra stamina regeneration allowing you more room for error in any given boss fight.
Secondly, I would say you should go for Erdtree’s Favour +2 since it gives you extra stats, and who doesn’t love some extra stats. Finally, I would offer you the Great Jar’s Arsenal Talisman since this can let you equip way heavier gear without the penalty of heavy rolling.
Good job! Please give your positive feedback 😏
