What Is Vivarium

Vivarium is a part of the Room of Requirement that lets you keep and care for the Beasts you saved with your Nab-Sack spell. It is the central place to store the beasts.

Here, you’ll care for your beasts by cleaning, feeding, and petting them. Breeding Pens can be installed in a vivarium to help replenish populations of magical beasts depleted by poachers.

Your Beasts will provide you with precious resources, but you have to take care of and give attention to them consistently. These materials can then be used at the Enchanting Loom to enhance the properties of your equipment.

How To Upgrade Vivarium

When you have finished Deek’s’ “The Elf, The Nab-Sack and the Loom” task, he will tell you you need a safe place to store the magical monsters you have gathered. The Vivarium is the only thing that can be spawned from the Room of Requirement, and it can contain 12 different varieties of beasts from four other species.

Considering that there are a total of 13 beast species in the game, the fact that you can only have four of those species at a time is insufficient if you are attempting to complete challenges related to beasts—everything you need to know about How To Tame Beasts is covered in this guide.

You must upgrade the space available in your Vivarium to resolve this issue. You cannot expand the capacity of the biome initially provided to you; however, you can add other biomes, increasing your account’s total storage capacity.

Biomes To Upgrade Vivarium

These enhancements are available as new Vivarium biomes that can be explored and modified. When you acquire a new Vivarium biome, you will receive four species slots, allowing you to house even more unique and powerful magical beasts.

If Hogwarts Legacy players complete the following quests for Deek, they can get three new upgrades for the Vivarium:

  • The Plight of the House-Elf Quest.
  • The Foal of the Dead Quest.
  • The Phoenix Rising Quest.

Coastal Biome

To get the upgrade for the Coastal Vivarium, you need to collect ten beasts and start the side quest “The Plight of the House-Elf,” which you can get from Deek in the Room of Requirement.

You need not worry about locating ten varieties of beasts because you can capture any of them. In addition, you will need to finish the main quest, “The High Keep,” before you may start the side quest, “The Plight of the House-Elf.”

Swamp Biome

Finishing the side quest “Foal of the Dead” is necessary to access the Swamp Vivarium. This mission requires bringing a male and female Thestral to a Vivarium and making a Breeding Pen.

When you have finished the side quest “The Plight of the House-Elf” and the main quest “Fire and Vice,” Deek will allow you to participate in the “Foal of the Dead” side quest.

In the area surrounding the North Ford Bog Floo Flame, you can find the Thestrals you need to complete the mission. You can learn the Breeding Pen spellcraft from Tomes & Scrolls for 1000 Galleons.

Grassland Biome

Fortunately enough, all of us have watched all series of Harry Potter. If you remember correctly, we saw an instance of the Phoenix in Professor Dumbledore’s office in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The Phoenix is a legendary bird that can heal any wound with its tear.

In Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll be given a side mission Phoenix Rising from Deek. Completing the quest by returning the Phoenix to the Room of Requirement will unlock the Grassland Vivarium. Moreover, the quest also takes you to a discrete location southeast of Hogwarts Castle; Poidsear Coast. Once you have completed the quest, you’ll unlock the upgrade for the Grassland Biome.

Decorating Vivarium Biomes

It is important to remember that each Vivarium biome can have Spellcrafts and other decorations added to it. You can use your Conjuring Spell to construct various decorum items, ranging from charming trees and bushes to detailed statues and building sections.

They can be molded into various shapes, varying from tiny to large. Moreover, you can employ Spellcrafts to assist in automating and optimizing the care process of your Beasts. These things’ presence will make your biome’s aesthetic value more apparent.

Best Vivarium For Each Beast

The magical beasts in your Vivarium biomes only differ in size, appearance, and looks. It does not matter where you keep them because each Vivarium can house any Creature. A lot of players get confused with this particular scenario, and there is no reason to be concerned. The magical beasts you store in any of the four Vivariums will have no negative effects!

Can We Increase Vivarium Capacity

This is a question many wizards keep asking the online community. The answer to the question remains the same as the developers of Hogwarts Legacy have already provided a sufficient number of beasts to house in a Vivarium respectively. You cannot expand the capacity to any of the Vivariums thus making it practical to store a maximum of 12 magical beasts with 4 different types.

Closing Remarks

Here I will finish the Hogwarts Legacy Vivarium Upgrades documentation. Following these instructions will allow you to bring the Vivarium in Hogwarts Legacy to its full potential and use. Moreover, many objectives demand you to capture and breed creatures, and unlocking new parts of the game is required to proceed through the story.
