Each Character in Mortal Kombat 1 has a bunch of Skins, Color Palettes, Gear, Taunts, etc. Moreover, Smoke is no different, with 20 Skins to unlock in Mortal Kombat 1, with eight more coming. These Palettes come from other sources, such as Mastery Rewards, Shrines, Purchases from the Shop, etc.

Who Is Smoke?

Smoke is an iconic character from the Mortal Kombat Series known for his stealthy combat style and gray-colored ninja outfit.

In the Mortal Kombat Series, Smoke’s real identity has consistently remained Tomas Vrbada. Moreover, he is a Lin Kuei Assassin and has originally appeared in Mortal Kombat 2 as a Secret Character. However, it wasn’t until Mortal Kombat 3 that he appeared as a Playable Character. Furthermore, Smoke is notable for using smoke-based magic spells to take out his opponents.

How To Unlock Skins?

Smoke has 20 Skins in Mortal Kombat 1, each with a unique Palette and Look. However, Skins don’t affect gameplay, so the abundance of Skins doesn’t mean Mortal Kombat 1 is a pay-to-win game. Moreover, each Mortal Kombat 1 Character will get new Skins every Season. There are possibly eight more skins you can get very soon.

Furthermore, you can get Skins in the following ways:

1. Mastery Rewards
2. The Shrine
3. The Shop
4. Playing Invasion Mode
5. Playing Story Mode
6. Completing Daily Quests

Mastery Skins

Every Character in Mortal Kombat 1 has Mastery Rewards you can get by Ranking your Character. Furthermore, you get a Mastery Reward at each Rank, and sometimes that Reward can be a Palette or Skin. However, these Skins aren’t exclusive and can be unlocked via other means if you don’t want to spend time grinding Smoke to Mastery Rank 35.

Shrine Skins

You can visit the Shrine and pay 1,000 Koins for a Random Reward. Moreover, these Rewards can sometimes contain Skins for Smoke and other goodies. However, this depends on your luck, as it is difficult to deal with the reality of grinding for Koins only to get a Koncept Art or Kombat Kard you have zero interest in.

Shop Skins

You can access the Shop from the Main Menu and browse for different content. Moreover, the Shop has many listings for all Characters, including Skins and Gear for Smoke. Furthermore, these Palettes change every Season, so check in occasionally for other Rewards. You can purchase any item from the Shop with Seasonal Kredits.

Invasion Mode Skins

You can unlock a lot of loot by simply playing through Invasion Mode. There are plenty of quick fights, and it can be quite a dopamine stir when you see your Experience Bar fill up and level up your Stats and Character’s Mastery.

Story Mode Skins

I found Mortal Kombat’s 1 Story interesting, especially towards the end. You get to play with and against various characters, which is a fun experience, especially if you’re interested in the Mortal Kombat Lore. Otherwise, there are plenty of Story Mode-exclusive Gear, Skins, and other goodies to unlock.

Daily Quest Skins
