Widowmaker Stats Table.
Why Did I Choose Widowmaker? The Widowmaker is the most lethal and crafty sniper you can find in Overwatch 2. It is wiser to have her on your side than against you.
Calling all sniper lovers! The Widowmaker, with her evil plan, is the most professional assassin in the game; her weapon can bring down enemies with a single hit. If you are good at aiming, then you can consider yourself the biggest threat to enemies.
Widow’s biggest advantage is her weapon but that still doesn’t mean her abilities are of any waste.
Active Abilities
- Grappling Hook – A great way to escape sticky situations is to fly away from there, and the grappling hook does exactly that; it launches a hook that lets Widow swing to a different building to escape or gain high ground against her enemies.
- Venom Mine – As the name suggests it poisons the enemies that step on it and puts them in an effect that hard their abilities and health.
Passive
Snipers take forever to reload but that’s not the case with Widow’s Kiss, if you successfully eliminate your target it will increase your movement and reload speed.
Ultimate
Infra Sight – Widow’s Ultimate allows her to reveal enemies’ locations to her teammates and help them plan better to ambush the target.
- Can take down enemies with a single hit.
- Can swing to a different building quickly with Grappling Hook.
- Venom Mine poisons the enemies that step on it.
- Has a lower win rate as compared to others.

Genji Stats Table.
Why Did I Choose Genji? If you’re looking for a hero who’s incredibly mobile and can get you out of a jam, Genji is the go-to character for you.
The fan favorite and youngest among the Shimada brothers, Genji is capable of inflicting massive damage on his foes if you know how to operate his shurikens.
Genji offers a unique skill set that only a few can master, and if you are one of them, then you can wipe out the whole enemy team alone.
Active Abilities
- Deflect – What’s better than hitting the enemies with their bullets? Genji’s deflect allows him to direct incoming fire in different directions.
- Swift Strike – It will enable Genji to dash toward the enemy to inflict damage or in the air to cover the big distance; if you eliminate an enemy while dashing, the cooldown will reset, and you can perform another dash right away.
Passive
Genji can freely climb on the walls and gain the high ground advantage or flank his enemies while they don’t expect him. He also gains additional movement and reloads speed after the successful elimination.
Ultimate
Dragonblade – This allows Genji to use his legendary Shimada blade and unleash the wrath upon his enemies. Dragonblade, combined with Ana’s nano, becomes so brutal that no enemy can escape from it.
- High mobility allows him to get out of difficult situations.
- Can freely climb on walls and flank enemies.
- The Dragonblade can be quite lethal against any enemy.
- Weak against enemies with beam weapons.
Hanzo
Best Stealth DPS Hero.
Real Name | Hanzo Shimada (島田 半蔵) |
Age | 38 |

Health | 200 |
Role | Damage |
Hanzo Stats Table.
Why Did I Choose Hanzo? Hanzo is another competent sniper with a bow and arrow and is lethal against all types of enemies – except tanks, of course.
I’ll discuss Genji but you should forget about the elder Shimada brother; that’s impossible. Hanzo and Genji go way back in history, and I don’t want to touch that emotional story again, but apart from that, Hanzo is a master of stealth and assassination.
Hanzo is a bit old-fashioned, and I have no complaints about it as he can inflict such damage from his Storm bow that no other modern weapon can compare. He stayed among the best DPS heroes for a very good while in Overwatch, and now you have a chance to experience his might in OW 2.
Active Abilities
- Storm Arrows – This ability allows Hanzo to shoot up to 5 rapid arrows, they have less damage, yet they are very helpful in close combat situations.
- Sonic Arrow – A special arrows that help you to reveal the enemy’s location under a certain radius.
- Lunge – Hanzo can perform a double jump to cover the additional distance.
Passive
Just like Genji, Hanzo can also jump around the walls.
Ultimate
Dragonstrike – A deadly arrow unleashes a legendary dragon that annihilates enemies that stand in its way.
- Can kill non-tank enemies with one headshot.
- Has a rapid-fire ability.
- Can jump around the walls and attack enemies.
- Not effective in long-range combat.
Reaper
Best Close-Range DPS Hero.
Real Name | Gabriel Reyes |
Age | 58 |
Nationality | American |
Occupation | Police officer (formerly) Soldier (formerly) Strike commander (formerly) Blackwatch agent (formerly) Mercenary Talon field agent/council member |
Base | Los Angeles, California, United States (birthplace) Unknown |
Affiliation | United States military (formerly) Overwatch (formerly) Blackwatch (formerly) Talon |
Relations | Martina Reyes (wife) Unnamed son |
Voice | Keith Ferguson (English) Expand |
Health | 250 |
Role | Damage |
Reaper Stats Table.
Why Did I Choose Reaper? The Reaper is known for his exceptional close-range combat, with his two shotguns that make quick work of enemies.
If you want one hero that can dominate the close-range combat, Reaper is your guy. He’s a nightmare to his enemies and can output massive damage to nearby foes.
Reaper got his name due to the lethal skillset he has to offer.
Active Abilities
- Shadow Step – if you are scared of ghosts, then you should be scared of Reaper as well. He can teleport and flank his enemies before they even notice him.
- Wraith Form – This ability allows him to become invulnerable to incoming damage for a certain time.
Passive
Here’s where things get even more exciting: every bullet you land on your enemy provides you a healing in return, which means as long as you are firing, you don’t have to worry much about your health.
Ultimate
Death Blossom – It puts Reaper in a gunning mode where he can damage all nearby enemies together and perform a squad wipe if the situation allows or if he receives a Nano boost from Ana.
- Wrath’s ability makes him invincible while he reloads his shotguns.
- Teleport ability enables him to cover long distances.
- His Passive allows him to heal with every bullet he fires at the enemy.
- Not suitable for long-range combat.
Torbjörn
Best Defensive DPS Hero.
Real Name | Torbjörn Lindholm |
Age | 57 |
Nationality | Swedish |
Occupation | Weapons designer Chief engineer (formerly) |

Voice | Keith Silverstein (English) Expand |
Role | Damage |
Health | 200 |
Armor | 50 |
Torbjörn Stats Table.
Why Did I Choose Torbjörn? Torbjörn is a creative and crafty mechanic who is the perfect addition to your team when you need to hold down the fort and protect your teammates.
Torbjörn‘s Abilities are a game changer in the fights where you need to hold the ground and stop enemies from pushing your team.
Active Abilities
- Deploy Turret – it activates an automatic turret that shoots any enemy in its sight and keeps them away from your point.
- Overload – It enhances all the abilities and movement capabilities while providing additional health for a short amount of time.
Passive
Every kill allows you to increase movement speed and cooldowns.
Ultimate
Molten Core – Torb’s ultimate allows him to produce a molten lava mat, which he normally calls a welcome mat for his enemies. It provides massive damage to anyone who steps on it and is really helpful during capture-the-point game modes.
- Perfect for a defensive hold in combat.
- His Passive increases the movement and cooldown speed with each kill.
- His automatic turret shoots all enemies within range.
- Not suitable for game modes like Push, where players have to advance.
Junkrat
Most Explosive DPS Hero.
Real Name | Jamison Fawkes |

Junkrat Stats Table.
Why Did I Choose Junkrat? Junkrat makes quick work of every tank and shield in his sight, so you would greatly benefit from having him on your team.
Why shoot when you can blow everything? Junkrat is all about mayhem, and it’s a nightmare for the tanks and shields.
Junkrat’s abilities are all about choosing the right moment to trap your enemies.
Active Abilities
- Concussion Mine – Junkrat will throw a mine that he can stick to any platform or can blow up anytime he wants.
- Steel Trap – If placed correctly, it can trap your enemies and make them stuck in their place and make them vulnerable to incoming damage.
Passive
With all the chaos Junkrat is totally immune to his explosions making he a complete savage when it comes to destruction.
Ultimate
Rip-Tire – An explosive tire that you can roam around or flank your enemies with; upon detonation, it can deal massive damage to nearby foes.
- Steel Trap ability traps enemies in place, allowing them to be attacked.
- His Passive makes him immune to explosion-based attacks.
- The ultimate ability deals massive damage to nearby foes through the explosion.
- His abilities can be tricky to utilize, especially in one-on-one combat.
Ashe
Most Violent DPS Hero.
Real Name | Elizabeth Caledonia "Calamity" Ashe |
Status | Active |
Age | 39 |
Nationality | American |
Occupation | Thief, gang leader |

Ashe Stats Table.
Why Did I Choose Ashe? Ashe is known for her mayhem-causing attacks and high damage output, as well as being able to take down enemies from both close and long-range.
It still feels like our favorite bandit and her butler just joined the team, but their combination is so deadly that I had to skip Cassidy for today’s list of best DPS.
Ashe being sneaky yet violent, has a skill set to keep her enemies away.
Active Abilities
- Coach Gun – This allows her to blast away her enemies or push herself backward in the air to gain high ground.
- Dynamite – Well, it’s as simple as it says, Ashe will throw dynamite toward her enemies that will inflict damage on them over time.
- You can also do instant damage if you shoot it in the air.
Passive
Increased movement and reload speed after every kill you make.
Ultimate
B.O.B. – A trustworthy butler who always protects his master. His arm canon is so effective that no one wants to be a target of it while Bob is shooting.
- Can deal both close and long-range damage.
- Her Passive allows for better movement and higher reload speed after every kill.
- Comes with B.O.B., a robot with a machine gun.
- Her reloading speed is the chink in the armor.
Why Others Were Not Chosen
Here are some of the DPS heroes that, in my opinion, don’t hold a candle to the ones I have reviewed in my guide.
- Cassidy: He isn’t effective at long-range and has an expensive Ultimate.
- Sombra: Her invisibility can be useful, but may leave the team at a 4v5 disadvantage.
- Sojourn: Seems like an upgraded version of Soldier 76.
- Soldier: 76: More suitable for beginners as compared to veterans.
- Tracer: Not very effective in one-on-one combat as compared to 5v5 combat.
- Pharah: She is vulnerable to hit-scan enemies.
- Echo: She is more of a liability than an asset in 5v5.
- Mei: She was more powerful in the first installment, and her abilities have been toned down in OW2.
- Symmetra: She is more defense-focused, but her laser turrets are close-range weapons.
- Bastion: While he is quite powerful, he doesn’t have a lot of mobility, making him a standing target.
My Recommendations
This brings us to the end of this guide. I have tried to gather the Best DPS heroes in one place for you, so you don’t have to look any further and can start your journey in Overwatch 2 immediately. If you ask for my recommendation, I’d say you can’t go wrong with the Widowmaker or Hanzo.
If you find my guides helpful and want more of them to keep coming, then kindly share them with your loved ones, and I’ll see you soon in a new one.
